Our new online Vigil link will be released December 6th when we gather to mourn and remember the senseless act of femicide that took the lives of 14 innocent women at L’ecole Polytechnique in Montreal. These women were massacred for no other reason than they were women. As we mourn these deaths, we also remember all those whose lives are threatened by gender-based violence and honoring the lives of those who have been killed. womensresources.ca/event/vigil/ … See MoreSee Less
Over the last 52 weeks, there have been 62 women and children killed in the province. We recognize the many lives that have been taken by men’s violence and the continued need to address the root causes of this violence to stop future preventable deaths from occurring. Here is a link to a recent press release from OAITH, Ontario Association of Interval and Transition Houses. As you read through this article, and hopefully read further the list of Femicides in 2022.23, we know it will carry impact and may inspire the change we desperately need.
