COMMUNITY SERVICES MANAGER

Permanent full-time  (40 hours per week and some on-call responsibility)

THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY-LEVEL POSITION

Women’s Resources of Kawartha Lakes provides emergency shelter services, counselling and support to abused women and their children in the City of Kawartha Lakes. We are currently seeking a Community Services Manager. In this role, you will manage and supervise all aspects of the Community Services Team and consult on high risk complex cases. You will have strong assessment and therapeutic counselling skills in the areas of addictions, mental health and violence against women. You will be part of the senior management team and be responsible for the operational implementation of the strategic service goals and objectives. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you have the ability to establish and build strong community connections. Experience managing in a unionized environment is an asset.

Compensation range $61,790-69,906

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:

  • BSW in social services/women’s issues, or equivalent professional designation
  • 3 – 5 Years program management and supervisory experience
  • Student Placement Supervision certification an asset
  • Addictions and mental health certifications an asset
  • Experience in managing in a unionized environment
  • High level of commitment to confidential information
  • Demonstrated therapeutic counselling skills working with women
  • Feminist analysis of violence against women
  • Knowledge of solution focused counselling and group work process
  • Effective community development and networking skills with emphasis on collaboration and building partnerships within local environment
  • Proven leadership skills in the areas of staff supervision, team building and community networking
  • Confidence in problem analysis, decision making and conflict resolution
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management
