There are still lots of ways to help women in need, as well as their children, and to find great gifts and stocking stuffers that give back.
The holidays can be especially difficult for women who are living with abuse, including those who are living in our shelter, often with children. Although they’re safe, and the shelter is homelike, it’s not truly home.
Elf Express – Gift & Toy Drive
Our Elf Express program ensures that everyone receives quality, much-appreciated gifts at Christmas. Every year, our caring community comes through with wonderful support. We are accepting donations until December 12 and drop your items off at 22 Russell St. East, Lindsay. We’re most in need of gift cards from popular retailers for teenagers, but would also appreciate books, games and arts and crafts material for any age, as well as bath sets and cozy slippers for women.

We know a lot of people contribute to good causes at this time of year. If you are in a position to be able to donate to Women’s Resources, we’d be so grateful if you could do so before year’s end. Marquee Fundraising Event featuring High Valley!
You can also cross two things off your list at once: support Women’s Resources while you give thoughtful gifts! Treat the country music fan in your life to a terrific show at our Marquee Event fundraiser on March 6, 2026, at the FLATO Academy Theatre. Cash Plus Raffle!
Finally, a few tickets for our Cash Plus Raffle still make a great gift even though we switched to online purchase. How to give as gifts: choose the ticket package, such as 3 for $20. Give the recipient’s name and phone number when purchasing online, but give your email address. The ticket numbers will be generated and emailed to you and you can print out & put in a stocking or card. Alternatively, you can phone in to Holly or Carolyn, 705-878-4285, or stop in to Vicky’s Values, 50 Mary St. W., and we can do all the work for you! The ticket numbers will still be emailed to you in whatever names you wish! Ideal to give as a seasonal gift for a teacher, hairdresser, mail carrier or anyone else.
